Louis van der Merwe

Louis van der Merwe is a 28 year old computer guru from Stellenbosch in the Western Cape. He was also a contestant on the TV show South Africa’s Got Talent, singing alongside his brother Willem van der Merwe, where they reached the finals to great acclaim, with almost ten million people watching them. He really enjoyed finding out, when he and his brother were featured on the show, that the staff of Top Billing all have brilliant, and naughty, senses of humour, and really know how to feast on a spread of delicious food.

Louis loves singing, enjoys rock climbing, hiking, computer gaming and reading fantasy books. He is pretty sure spanspek is actually a biological weapon in fruit form, and has great respect for his vice that some people call coffee. For the past few years he both studied and worked at the University of Stellenbosch, and is now a full-time singer, something which he has always wanted to be.
